More about Priya…
Priya is also a co-founder and program director of the Tahoe Literary Festival and Truckee Literary Crawl, two events dedicated to celebrating writers, fostering literary engagement, and building community through storytelling. Through these initiatives, she and co-founder Katherine Hill have brought together authors, poets, and thinkers to share their work and inspire meaningful conversations.
In addition to writing, Priya is the owner of The Seasoned Sage, a private chef and catering company that offers nourishing, seasonal meals. She weaves intention into every dish, crafting recipes that celebrate flavor, tradition, and the alchemy of cooking. Her latest endeavor—a mystical culinary card deck—blends food with intuition, guiding people to cook in harmony with the elements of fire, water, earth, and air.
A longtime facilitator and teacher, Priya leads workshops on writing, meditation, and self-discovery, helping individuals unlock creativity and inner wisdom. She has guided transformational retreats, taught yoga and mindfulness, and co-founded a retreat center focused on personal growth and well-being.
Her background in public relations and event production includes years as a publicist and marketing director, where she organized international speaking engagements, media campaigns, and large-scale events. She played a key role in interfaith and humanitarian initiatives, bringing together global leaders for discussions on spirituality, activism, and wellness.
Priya has presented at the Parliament of the World’s Religions, where she organized the International Women’s Panel on Spirituality, convening women of different faiths from around the world to discuss spirituality and the challenges women face in society. She also led workshops on the benefits of spiritual practices, yoga, and meditation, and played a vital role in bringing global AIDS activists together for a plenary session on the crisis.
Priya has volunteered extensively, supporting programs for the homeless and individuals with AIDS. These experiences have shaped her understanding of connection—how food, words, and shared experiences can heal, empower, and transform.
At her core, Priya is a storyteller in all its forms—through writing, through food, and through the spaces she holds for others. Whether at the table, on the page, or in a workshop, her work is rooted in nourishment, awareness, and joy.
